Molecular Configuration in Sodium Thymonucleate
1953
Franklin and Gosling's 1953 letter in Nature on X-ray photographs of DNA fibers from calf thymus. They read the pattern of spots as a helix and conclude the fibers hold two chains wound around one axis, with the phosphate groups on the outside. It appeared in the same issue as Watson and Crick's model.
